LEGAL ALERT
Clients and Interested Parties:
The official FCC regulatory fee payment window
for fiscal year 2005 opens August 23, 2005 and
will close September 7, 2005. All regulatory
fees, along with FCC Form 159, are due no
later than September 7, 2005. In addition to
authorized interstate and international
carriers, other providers required to pay
regulatory fees to the FCC include Commercial
Mobile Radio Service licensees and Earth
Station licensees. With very few exceptions,
any company that reported interstate and/or
international revenue on its FCC Form 499A is
subject to the regulatory fee obligation based
on those reported revenues.
Any payment received after 11:59 pm, September
7, 2005, will be subject to a statutorily
required 25% late payment penalty. In
addition, nonpayment can potentially result in
forfeitures and/or dismissal of FCC
applications.
